Overview, speed and creativity. I always want to know what's going on in a day, what transports are scheduled so that I can switch immediately when requests are made. It is important to me, to be informed. We like to be in personal contact with the customer and then this is a prerequisite. Then you can communicate openly and honestly and be a true partner for the customer. We have companies that have been TBB customers for more than 20 years. That makes me proud of TBB and of our team.

Although the world is digital and the transport sector, and hence TBB, benefit from many advantages due to digitalisation; we always aspire to build a personal relationship with our customers. Experience is something that is in you, you don't get it from a system.

 

As soon as logistics is in your heart, you never want anything else
I consider that I have now been in transport for over 25 years. After studying business economics, I once started in accounting. That really turned out not to be my thing. An employment agency thought it was a shame that I wanted to do something else and cynically suggested that they still had a job as a driver. That was music to my ears and I applied the next day. I started there as a driver and after three years I took my leave as manager with a complete reorganisation of the logistics department behind me. From then on, it has been only logistics. Someone once predicted to me, "Once logistics is in your heart, you never want anything else."

No wonder TBB was founded. The arrangement every day of the different types of transport at different companies and on different platforms gave rise to the idea that it should be made easier. It's nice when I can transfer some of my knowledge to the team at such times. We offer a working environment where there is room for initiative, where we help each other and where mistakes are allowed. This does involve taking responsibility, which is something our customers notice. Be yourself and stand up for what you do and you will enjoy your work and offer quality. I think special transport is a good example. With exceptional dimensions, you need special transport and you have to start carefully defining all the routes. For every country you go through, we have to apply for permits and arrange any accompaniment. That requires good preparation and that's what I'm all about! Super fun to do this together.
Sometimes I go 'out' too.... I was once asked to 'briefly' arrange a pallet. Completely black sealed with a load (on paper) of which I thought, why send it. And then please pay cash as well. No, I am not going to take unnecessary risks to put our people and therefore our business at risk. Our work is all about trust but that has to be mutual.
