Suki
Logistics Planner at TBB
With courier services and transport, you can make a difference. If a consignment does not go as planned, I will bite into it until it is sorted out, preferably without the customer noticing.
Suki - Logistic Planner at TBB
Daily, I support our customers in transporting their goods. We transport all kinds of things and our shipments go all over the world. By air or sea freight or with a direct courier ride. I've been doing that at TBB since 2017. Before that, I worked in value transport and experienced intense things like robberies. But fortunately, that too is already some time behind me. All in all, I now have a lot of experience in the transport industry and feel completely at home in it.
At TBB, the challenge for me is to find the most cost-effective way to get the shipments to the right place without compromising on quality. Finding the right balance in this and taking care of everything around it gives me energy and is the most important thing in my job. I want to unburden the customer as much as possible so he can focus on his own business. If sometimes things don't quite work out with a shipment, I get stuck in and solve it. Hopefully, the customer won't have noticed anything or very little; that makes my day and I go home with a good feeling. Yes, that includes dealing with stress from time to time. Sometimes I take a moment in between to get everything back in order and then I can carry on.
"I have been working at TBB for quite some time now and I still enjoy going to work every day. I think that is very important."
We sometimes have to deal with DG - Dangerous Goods - shipments, or customs import issues or have to ship precious jewellery. These are separate jobs but by now we have so much experience with them that we know how to prepare this to make the transport go as smoothly as possible. Once, for instance, I 'just' boarded the plane to Rome myself to bring an essential technical part that a team was waiting for. That was the quickest solution at the time so we arranged it that way. If something can be done and it is necessary, we just do it.
Our regular customers now know TBB and know that we do these things to help them. We have customers all over the Netherlands. For example, I am in regular contact with a fine customer from Maastricht for whom we ship fragile medical equipment. We do that with dedicated transport, directly from A to B so nothing can go wrong en route.
Communication is important, externally and internally
Communication is always important, we keep everyone involved informed and in our transport system Ship-it-Easy customers can check the status in real time. Very handy and that makes the work relaxed and challenging at the same time.
We also have a great team among ourselves, not a day goes by that we don't laugh together. Within TBB you have a lot of freedom and you are not put on the spot if you make a mistake. As long as you solve it again and of course with the right intention and attention. Very human and therefore relaxed. That's the way we work at TBB, we do it together. As a team and in cooperation with the customer.
I also have a lot of contact with our drivers and am aware of the situation on the road. Added to that is the maintenance of our fleet, if something is wrong with a vehicle they report it to me. Oh yes, and then I often arrange delicious sandwiches for lunch; we can't skip those, of course! Every day is different but that's what makes my job such a pleasure. So for the time being, you will continue to get me on the phone when you call TBB Express, who knows, maybe we will speak to each other soon!
