The Transport Sector Must Turn Vulnerability into Opportunity & Collaboration.

Erwin - Co-founder and Owner TBB

That the transport sector is under pressure due to global tensions is obvious. Even personally, I regularly worry about how we will all be together again in a while. Is world peace finally increasing and are we becoming a bit more tolerant towards each other? As a father of two adolescent children, these are real worries.
The nice thing about the upcoming holidays is that these days are all about being together and enjoying each other. So I think we should do that even more, especially at the end of this year.

Business-wise, conflicts cause disruptions in our industry's supply chains. Think higher costs and longer delivery times for carriers, especially in sea and air freight. Higher fuel prices, we all have to deal with that and we are all going to see this reflected in tariff adjustments in 2025. In addition, cyber attacks on logistics networks are also a real concern. Naturally, we anticipate all possible risks by taking restructuring and proactive steps. Companies are diversifying supply chains and investing in digitalisation to be more flexible and less dependent on geopolitical risks. In addition, sustainable transport is gaining importance, such as electric freight transport and also alternative fuels, which should reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

Turning Threats into Opportunities
Challenging times, therefore, in which flexibility and innovation are essential. The ability to adapt to all these complex circumstances will determine how our industry faces future challenges. TBB has shown over the past year that we are not sitting still. Our IT systems are up to date, especially in terms of security, and we will remain on top of this in 2025. In addition, our electric vehicle fleet will be further expanded in the coming year so that we are less of a burden on our environment but certainly so that we can continue to deliver goods in all cities.

This way, threats may become new opportunities. After all, the demand for reliable logistics is growing. TBB offers a resilient network of different transport providers together within one platform. In 2025, we will welcome DPD as a new carrier within our network, which is good news. Our customers benefit daily from using our platform Ship-It-Easy and it is great that we can bring this expansion.

In addition to integrating DPD, we remain open to multiple collaborations from TBB. For us, it is the way to face the future and always find the power of cooperation again. That applies in the cooperation with other carriers but certainly also towards our customers. We continue to think along and strive for the best result for all parties.

Let that be the starting point for us for 2025 and that is what I would like to bet on during the holidays. On behalf of team TBB, I wish everyone happy days, a happy new year and let's enjoy each other's presence to the fullest.
